    We will check the date(s) you are requesting and send you back the availability via e-mail.

Book your event

Once you have confirmed that your date(s) are available (using the form above), please fill out the event booking form (below) with as much information as you can.   Use your best judgement as to which rooms/services you require.  Final rental amounts will be invoiced to you

Payments

  • For events under $150, payment in full is required to confirm your booking.
  • For events over $150,  a 50% down payment is required to confirm your booking.
  • The balance is due 7 days prior to your event.
  • Any additional charges incurred during the event will be due at the event's conclusion.
Payment may be made by:
  • e-mail money transfer to emeraldcc@bellaliant.com  (Question: Where is the Boxcar? Answer: emerald)
  • cash, credit or debit in person at the Community Centre on Friday 6pm-10pm 
  • credit card by phone 902-886-2400 (weekends/evenings). ​

Cancellation Policy

  • A cancellation received up to six months prior to your event will receive a 100% refund of your payment.
  • A cancellation received less than six months prior to your event will receive a 75% refund of your payment.

    Event Booking Form

    If you wish to have the name(s) of the guests of honour or a welcome to your business/group displayed on our digital sign* the day of your event, list the details here. *subject to availability
    For weddings, bar service usually starts 1 hour before the reception start time.
    What type of event are you planning?
    Do you need early access to the community centre? let us know what day(s) and times and we will try our best to acommodate your request. Please note: there is no access on Fridays during July & August to decorate for a Saturday event due to weekly bookings, however early Saturday is available.
    No alcoholic beverages may be brought into the Community Centre. If you require special order wine etc... check out our current wine price list on the booking information page. Special orders must be placed at least 2 weeks prior to your event.

    Let us know how many to set up for. If you don't have exact numbers, just give us an estimate. The Banquet Room can hold up to 150 including the head table for a wedding. Other types of events can hold up to 180, depending on set-up.
    Let us know how you would like the room set up for your event. You can put requests for the microphone, podium, projection screen etc... in the comments section.
    Will you be having entertainment? Please let us know if it's a DJ or Band and when they need in to setup

Every event has its own unique features and requirements, however you can get a rough idea of estimated rental costs by checking out our sample event rental guide. Remember, always contact us for details on your specific requirements & costs.

KITCHEN/FOOD SERVICE:
  • If you are using our caterers Fay O'Brien, Lorraine Mulligan, or Elaine Locke there is no extra charge for the kitchen rental. 
  • If you are using another caterer the full kitchen rental is $200. + HST. The caterer must provide proof of a FOOD PREMISE LICENSE prior to the event to gain access to the kitchen. 
  • If you are preparing the food yourself, the full kitchen rental is $200. + HST and you must apply for a CLASS 4 FOOD PREMISES LICENSE (no fee) for serving anything other than sweets, muffins & loaves. Apply online here . Proof of license must be e-mailed to emeraldcc@bellaliant.com prior to your event to gain access to the kitchen. 
  • There also must be at least one person in the kitchen at all times of food preparation who has successfully completed the FOOD SAFETY COURSE offered by Environmental Health. Register for upcoming courses here. Certificate(s) must be posted in the kitchen during your event. 
  • rates may be adjusted according to group size

 Company Staff Party

STAFF  DINNER <40*          $30. inc. tax per person
STAFF  DINNER 41-100*  $28. inc. tax per person
STAFF  DINNER >101*       $26.50 inc. tax per person
  • Above prices include  a served hot roast beef or turkey dinner with all the trimmings plus desert. Other options available, may affect prices.
  • Add $2./person for a buffet
  • Private room rental & bar service included
  • Background holiday music included
  • Renters are welcome to provide their own live entertainment
  • ​Gratuities not included. If complimentary drinks are served to guests, a gratuity will be added to the bar invoice. 
  • Meals are included in the above prices but will be invoiced separately from room rental/bar service.  ​

Our rental spaces / services

Banquet Room - capacity 200 (150 with tables)
Boxcar Pub - capacity 60 (with tables)
Kitchen - basic use - includes counters & cooler
Kitchen - full use - includes stoves, dishwasher, dishes etc
Studio - capacity 80 - lower level  includes kitchenette
Meeting Room - capacity 20 - lower level includes kitchenette Boardroom - capacity 10-12 

​Bar Service - $25/hour for events over 50 guests, $15./hour under 50 guests - Plus 1 hour for bar setup & cleanup. (included in the above rental prices)

*Kitchen rental will be charged to the caterer/person who is using the kitchen to prepare meals. 

Wine/beer regulations

65. All liquor sold or kept for sale by a licensee (Emerald Community Centre) shall be purchased from or through the Commission and shall be dispensed from the original container in which it is purchased. (EC704/75) 
All beer and wine must be purchased through our bar. You can not bring your own under any circumstance.

We want your special day to go off without a hitch, but be advised that drinking in the parking lot or bringing alcohol into/out of the facility will result in the early closing of your wedding or event. Any fines issued by PEILCC will be the responsibility of the renter. 
We can also cater to your meetings or conferences, the example below includes facility rent & bar service. e-mail emeraldcc@bellaliant.com for more details and food options. 
Please Note: once you press submit, this form will disappear and you will see a "thank you" message at the bottom of the screen.  You will not be able to re-open the form. We will usually confirm receipt of your booking within 48 hours and we will issue a preliminary invoice within a few weeks.
